The "village 11 , consisting of 10 cottages and a Day Centre is the brainchild of Anagaire Geriatric Association who have formed a sub-committee to raise the £150,000 needed for the project. A site has been acquired beside the Anagaire Cope, fUnd-raising activities have commenced and it is hoped to start building work as soon as possible. The cottages will be designed specifically for old people e.g. there will be no steps, doors will be wider to accomodate wheelchairs, water taps will be adapted to make it easier for old people to use them, etc. In the Day Centre the old people will be able to see the doctor, the priest can hear confessions and they will be able to watch T.V. and socialize. The North Western Health Board have promised to provide a staff of two on a fUll-time basis for the scheme. Committee members, Dr. Bonner, Nurse Gallagher, · Anthony (an Bhainne) 0 1 Donnell, Timmy McBride (Fforghlan) and Seamus (Peter) Boyle would greatly appreciate your donations and hope the people of the area will support their fUnd– raising campaign in the months ahead.
