SAMIAIN/OOLIAlG 1981 WAai 25p c "''''""'Wiiiiii-~"''''"'""----N\.'"'"""''"'''"'''.._ ......... ,~,~ The Cope in Anagaire, built in 1923 as a branch of' the Inngloe Cope has moved into the 21st centUJ7 with the opening of a new enlarged store. ~ile it vas due tor adaptation after all those years it is certainly ahead of it's time in it's present~ ation, scope and facilities to ensure good hygiene. It is built on the same site behind the old shop which has now been demolished to provide an exten– sive car park for the new store. As well as offering the people of the area improved shopping facilities the new Cope greatly enhances the entrance to Anagaire from the Gaoth Dobhair side. This is welcome news and· ls in keeping with other improvements in the village, a village that is becoming Yery attractive ~ progressive. With motoring costs spiraling the Cope have adopted a policy of encouraging local shopping while at the same time promising the same standards as in larger centres. It is very welcome news indeed that in this the Year of the Disabled the new Cope has no steps, kerbs or slopes. · The opening is a tribute +.o the.efforts ofT~ Doherty, the hardvorking manager in Anagaire, his staff and John 0' Donnell the Cope Committee representative for the area. Amazingly the new store vas comp– ~eted in about 5 months. rhis fine 3,500 sq.tt. building is welcome news not only to Cope members but to all shoppers.
