One had hoped both Rascal and ~ Magic Band were above such gimmick products, but in eo difficult times, an artist needs more than a single. ~ An Clennad will be spending most of September in the eo W indmlll Studios recording a new albuJ:It. R NW FACES: A group which has made a tremendous impact i on the local dancing scene are Double Vision. The four piece group featuring local musicians from the ~ Rosses spent several months in rehearsal before they ~ hit the road. Group member Peter Grubb say Double ... Vision compose most of their own stage material, and ~ arrange to their own style the rest of their nightly ... programme. Having heard the group in action several i. times I was most impressed with their sound. Vocal wise they could be a lot stronger, but music wise they are excellent. With more experience together and the right breaks they could be big. ANOTHER COMEBACK: Delighted to note that singer Seamus Me Gee is to have another go at the music scene and is currently forming a new backing group. Sel>...!US was a member of the highly successful Nashville Showband a decade ago. He enjoyed success with a single entitled "Stand by Your Window", but afterwards Seamus decided to get out of the dancing scene. Some months back he recorded a special tape for P~io na Gaeltachta and since then he has rec– eived numerous bookings. An excellent entertainer and I know that he wlll be just as successful this time round.
