Doire Na Mainsear Strangers and indeed friends often wonder how we survive in Dotre na Mainsear. No shops, no pubs, no buses, etc. But we find that we are as well provided for .- if.not better than most small communities ~n rural Ireland. Come Sunday we have Danny Rua' s minibus -for early and late masses.; Monday is Co-op delivery day; Tuesday we have Larkin, baker cum grocer calling; Wednesday is coal delivecy. day; fbursd~ "the Falcarragh man" (grocer cum greengrocer) and Larkin calls; Friday we -have Donncbad 1 s mobile mini-mart and Boyle's Butchers, and to finish off the week Larkin is back on Saturday evening. Campbell from Glenties visits his knitters once a mo~th. Talking about knitting, oUr own Neilie Bhride of "Old Morning Star" and 1 Knitmaster" fame visits us every fortnight. It has be_en said that Nellie' s new knitmaster knitting machine can knit everything from 'willy warmers' to wonder over-coats. "Mallaigh Eoghain ghost" must have taken refuge on Hughie MUlligans Lane. Three cars ditched on this lane during the month. Mallaigh Eoghain at its · worst never equalled that.
