The Sunshine Val'iety Coach was featured on RTE 2 1 s magazine progra;nme 11 Ireland 1 s Eye", and driver Peadar Quinn from Dungloe had the difficult task of driving the coach into RTE 1 s Studios in Donnybrook for the television recording. The coach will serve the centres in Dungloe, Gaoth Dobhair and Falcarrach and will be available to take the handicapped on special trips. Certainly a most welcomed gift for the benefit of the handicapped. 4 MAGHERY The Dungloe darts league has got under way with title-holders Midway Bar getting a bad beating on the f i rst night. Michael Sweeney is blaming new manager John Bonner but the manager r eckons the lads are overplayed and it' s all John Murray' s fault. He has 4 of t he t eam playing in the Lower Rosses League . Rumour has it that the "Big Yi n 11 i s in the first stages of the male menopause. They say he got very qui ck-tempered lately especailly with the Tug-o-war team (one of the first symptoms ) and Andrew the Postman is demanding a rise for all t he love letters he's delivering to him latel y. But sure better late t han never or so John Joe Glackin says. He i s due to start gi ving pre-marital courses to all t he batchelors and spinsters i n t he area. After 10 years i n Kilcar he has it all off. Henry was one of the first to enroll for this course, he says you never know when it'll come in handy. Nell is wondering what her new neighbour in Roshine is like. She is keeping an open mind but Johnny is beginning to wonder! After all he hasn't yet heard him play anything on the bagpipes that sounds familiar. He says it's like a foreign station butting in, especailly when he is trying to listen to Radio na Gaeltachta. Anne Sw~eney had a close call one day when she was chased by Treacy's goat. It took Wee Hugh and Dermot half an hour to catch up with the two of them and draw the goat away. But Annie denies she was chased and claims she was training for the Dublin City Marathon. The goat then chased Dermot back to the house and by the gleam in the goat's eye it would take more than Dinnie Dhomhnaill to save him so he had to jump through the porch windmr to escape. The development of the Maghery sports field is nearing completion -at last. After the trouble Dan and Barney had levelling it they had to get another machine over from Gortahork to do it again. I must head off for Killymard now for John Joe 1 s wedding. See you next month. "~" Doire Na Mainsear Sarah Johndy is at home again from Glasgow where she spent a weeks holiday with her son John Joe. Roise Eoin was awakened one night recently by a very strange noise in her bedroom. Picking up the gun and switching on the light she was surprised to see a "black & white" magpie sitting on top of the wardrobe .
