Accident .Black spot This month's Black Spot affects travellers to and from Anagaire using the road from Loch an IU"ir. Travelling from Loch an Itiir towards Anagaire the road is fairly good apart from the twisty bit immediately after the old railway gatehouse (itself a very blind road-junction). However, we soon come to a very deceptive wriggly, narrow bridge with walls of concrete blocks. The only warning we have is that the dots in the centre of the road are a little closer together than along the rest of the road. For a start, there shouldn't be dots there at all. THERE SHOULD BE A SOLID WHITE LINE. Secolldly, . there should be a Double Bend Warning Sign from both directions. Thirdly, the concrete block walls should have yellow and black and reflective red warning stripes on them. (Congratulation$ to the County Council for putting these up in some places locally). Now, most of us who are local in this area know this narrow twisty bridge and know how to "take" the corners, but do we allow for the thousands of visitors who pass through these parts? Do we allow POOR FAIR The Public Bar was fairly busy when we paid our visit. It is cosy and well decorated. A pint of beer is 58p, ~ Guinness 58p and Spirits 56p, although we did not ~ learn this from the price-list as you would need g binoculars to be able to read it. The toilets were 11 immaculately. clean with soap, towels, etc.provided, but again, no hot water. Soup and sandwiches are available during the _day and the Bar appears to be well stocked. We have one complaint however. On _. visiting this hostelry from time to time and· from talking to other customers we found that the ·service ~ at times could be a bit more pleasant. Apart from this, lfuidf' Beag 1 s is definitely one of ~ the best Bars in the area. Q.. Q Q.. Q,. ..... Pint Rating: ., r .,., Where will Pub Spy strike next? Next month it's somewhere in the Rosses. for Me inlay's coach which manages (with remarkable skill) to avoid painting the walls red and cream? There is no room on this bridge to pass another vehicle, so motorists treat it with caution and let us hope the Council will reduce the hazard ~onsiderabl.y by putting up sufficient road signs· and markings.
