Roeaes, L it reacha Co. DoDegal. 7/3/'81. A Chara, I've finally got around to putting pen to paper as regards women's Tug O'War teams. What's wrong with these young women who take part in such an unladylike sport? I think the days of Ladies having principles are gone when you see them lying around a mucky field or on a lounge floor. One has to admit 1t 1 s degrading to say the least. They might argue it's nice to get trophies, etc. but why not take up a ladylike sport like tennis, badllinton, athletics for example, if they have such a lot of surplus energy to burn. So come on girl.S - leave Tug O'War to the well- abled"men. Girls were not made for such a sport, and please remember it's not a healthy sport for women. I'a glad to see the majority of girls in the area have their principles. in Prospectint Looking forward to hearing the pu~lic 1 s comments on the • .... .. .. .... 0 .c l -io ...... !l:!i .... ~ .... It's the junction where the Strand Road comes op to the Machaire Chlochair road (the road down to Os tan Ghaoth Dobhair). It a driver pulls out of this turn onto the main road he finds a bliDd hump on either aide of him. He cannot pull out sately to turn left but it 1 s eT&n more dangerous to turn right, towards Bunbeg~ For the car approaching from Bunbeg this Junction is concealed until the last moment. With the double attraction ot the hotel and the superb beach this spot desperately needs remedying. We urgently need these humps · removed and warning signs erected. With this being a Tery busy road, nov is the time to do it before the Summer rush starts. Now remember, cheek steering and suspension regu.larlJ - our roads are so bad that they cause extra wear and tear which can cause accidents.
