LIAM MAC GIOLLA EASBUIC Guthan: Bunbeag 216 IIIIIIHIUIIIIIIHIIIIUIIIHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHIIJIIII DOIRE NA MAINSEAR Well readers, here I am, I'm back t t ! I'm told that I missed two editions since I left, but as I've already explained us Rocks do take holi days and -if Haureen Doherty can take six weeks then I' m sure+Y due eight weeks. But now that I'm back, fi.rst things first. The Me Cafferty/Hc Gee family had their first ever 11 clan 11 reunion in July. They calll8 to the family home · in Doire na Hainsear from Canada, U.S.A • Eneland, N. Ireland B.lli~ the Republic - and what a reunion t ! They celebrated on a scale never seen in the Rosses before, but one of those parties and the hour of midnight will be etched in their memories forever. For it was at midnight that the lights went out and the Haunted Witch (rumoured to haunt empty houses in Doire na Mainsear for decades) appeared. There was panic and pandemonium but a few managed to balance their senses and grabbing their cameras took snap ai~er snap of the ghostly intruder. After what seemed an eternity but in reality was only a :few minutes ;;she" d~sa. peared and hasn't been seen since. Nellie swears that 11 she 11 move<i to Anagaire, that she saw 11 her 11 with her Own eyes sitting on a box and tapping on a headstone, but Nellie didn't wait to see if the Haunted Witch got a reply. John Mer got his house picked, washed, plastered, dashed and painted. Now if the surrounding wall was plastered and painted it would rate among the best looking cottages in the Rosses. ~ Rosie the Yank had a lucky but painful_experience lately when the Mi -waddi bottle burst. 'Madgie Eo in and Ha i re were home from Gl asgo;r for a week– end . Maire vi sited all her friends while Madgie wat ched the rain~rater in t he Kitchen! ! 11 Now under God whe re i s Jimmy Doherty? 11 Biddy Sheain had a l ong ho l iday in her holiday home and Kevin stayed for a week. Ann Harie and E.amonn spent eight weeks at home, and it's so lonely since tl:>..ey left. It's a pi~ that they live so far away. Annie Eoghain l·:!hoir didn't get her new windows in - but wait . Fr C'Connell' s annual l·lini-l!ission in the "priest's House" was a tremendous success with everyone in the local i t y attending every even i ng. It was nice to hear t hat Joe, Patsy Aru1, J ohn ~lor, J ohn Sheain and Padraig Chonaill attended so often. I hope t o roll i n next time. 11 The Rock 11 • / ' "Do you have those cards you se c retly :c.arked Dear'/ I want to show Hrs . Boyle that trick you taught me."
