The Loch an Iuir N.s. has been given a new face-lift by the painting of the outside.. This school is very well looked after since its renovation some years ago. Many people are receiving very good reception on all five T.V. channels since the new booster ·was erected on Cnoc na nAgall. Actually people are getting BBC 1 very clearly without a new aerial. The potatoe yield was remarkably down this year, due not to a bad crop but rotten potatoes. Many people had halt their crop rotten, even though most people sprayed. L 0 ch an Idir was always noted for good quality potatoes. The recent sponsored walk to collect money for their Band brought a magnificent response from the children. They completed the eight mile journey - L 0 ch ap Iuir, Crolly, Anagaire, and back to Loch an Iuir inside two hours. The organisers, Francie McElaney and P. McGarvey were very happy with the results. When will we get a public telephone box? This is being asked, and promised for quite a while now, but to date we have to depend on telephones in private r.ouses.
